ALL ACTIONS PRODUCE RESULTS : LESSON FROM THE LAW OF KARMA

Success in school or life is based on clear understanding and application of the most powerful law in the universe which forms the background of everything one experiences and gets in life. It is this law that clearly explains the differences between those who are rich and those who are poor, those who are happy and those who are sad, those who are succeeding academically and those who are struggling academically among others. This law is called “The Law of Karma” or “The Law of Sowing and Reaping” or “The Law of Cause and Effect”.

This law is very powerful, unchanging, unwavering, deliberate and 100% precise in its application to academic and professional success that it has been referred to as “The Iron Law of Human Destiny.”  From the time of Adam till this very moment that you are reading this article, this law has been and is always at work everywhere, in anything and everything. This law is neutral and works the same for everyone at all times. It has been stated in the various scriptures of the world’s major religions and by great philosophers over 3000 years ago.

What does the law says and how is it useful in the journey to the kingdom of academic and professional success?  To put it in simple terms, the law of Karma states that “as you sow so shall you reap.” That is, you reap what sow and that, the equation between inputs (things you do) and output (the results you get) is always immutable. All actions have consequences and produce specific results as do all inactions after their gestation period. You are the chief architect of your success or failure and happiness or misery. The origin of whatever you are going through in life currently is the result of the actions you took some time ago which you should not have taken or actions you failed to take some time ago which you should have taken. Yes! Every action or decision we take in life can be likened to a fertile seed that is put in the soil. With time, under right conditions, the seed will germinate and gradually grow into a big tree and produce fruits, bitter or sweet which the sower must consume.

To illustrate the point I am trying to convey in this article, reflect deeply about the following linkages on actions and results (consequences).

  • Poor diet and exercise habits now inevitably lead to poor health whilst the reverse is equally true.
  • Not putting enough time in your studies in school leads to bad academic performance and vice versa.
  • Uncontrolled spending today leads to more debt and financial worries in future whilst the opposite is also true.

I can go on and on to proof to you that, you cannot simply escape the consequences of any action or decision you take in your life, no matter how long it delay because every action, just like a viable seed has a gestation period.

The greatest lesson from the law of Karma is that, you need to balance common sense with emotion to take the right actions / decision that can produce the right results in life. The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today however small it may be.  You may not be happy with what you have achieved so far or the results you are currently getting in your work life or relationship life. You need to understand the basic fact that, it is time to take new and carefully thought action if you want to get new and better results. If you do what you have always done, you will get the same results.  To get different results that are pleasing, you simply have to move out of your comfort zone and do more than you were previously doing. Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist in the 21st century took inspiration from the law of Karma by making the below remark.”

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

My dear reader, avoid putting blames on others and circumstances for the unpleasant things you might be facing in your current life. It is time to take personal responsibility for your actions. Reactions in the form of complaints, excuses and blame games mostly aggravate problems but purposeful actions are practical means to solve problems in life and transform your life into what God created it to be. Remember that, you have answers to 90% of the questions you keep asking yourself about the unpleasant things in your life. Do not look far for answers!. Thank you.
